Another Set of Outstanding A Level and Vocational Results

Prendergast School is thrilled with the 2015 A level results.  Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics have done particularly well at A*- B ensuring Russell Group University entry in these prestigious subjects.

There have been continued improvements in a number of facilitating subjects including English, Spanish, French and History. We have continued our outstanding record of 100% of student pass-rate.

25% of all results were A* - A. 51% of our grades were A* - B. This demonstrates the quality of the teaching and support across all subjects.

There have been many outstanding achievements by individual students including:

  • Katie Lee who achieved three A*s. She will be studying Engineering at Oxford University.
  • Yunus Eskisan and Miriam North each achieved two A*s, an A and an A at Further Maths AS level.  Yunus hopes to read Engineering at Cambridge University and Miriam to read Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College, London or Cambridge.
  • Marwa Ghouini achieved A*, two As and an A grade at EPQ, the new qualification highly valued by universities that allows students to showcase their individual enthusiasms. Marwa will be studying Psychology at University College London.
  • Sian Keogh achieved an outstanding A*, two As and a B and is reading History in York.
  • Three other students also gained an A* and two A grades which means automatic entry to Russell Group and research intensive universities.
  • Two more students achieved three A grades and two further students gained A*, A and B grades

This means that 10 students achieved 3 straight A grades or better!

50% of students will take up places at Russell Group and research intensive Universities.

Two students amongst the many who have made exceptional progress since joining are Nikhil Branson who gained two As and a B grade and Masiray Conteh who gained three C grades.  Everyone in the school community is very proud of them.

Sue Roberts Headteacher said:

‘Students this year have worked very hard and we are delighted with their success. We know they will do well at University and Art College having achieved these results. We know this is also the result of careful, highly skilled teaching and tremendous support in the home from parents and carers. Everybody celebrates on days like today and we wish all the students well in their chosen futures.’
