09-04-20 Letter to Parents and Carers - Free School Meal Vouchers

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have been working as hard as we can to make sure that all children in receipt of Free School Meals get their entitlement. We have followed all the Government advice as soon as it was released to us.

On 29th March the Department of Education announced the use of a company called Edenred as the vehicle to distribute Free School Meal vouchers to eligible families in England. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/voucher-scheme-launches-for-schools-providing-free-school-meals

There have been significant delays for all schools with the roll out of this service. These have rightly received a great deal of press attention.

Edenred has said “there has been unprecedented demand and order volumes, and some orders have been in a queue waiting to be fulfilled, we appreciate your patience and recognise the importance and sensitivity of distributing vouchers to families in need.”

From our records we can see that families are now beginning to receive the vouchers we have applied for as Edenred make progress fulfilling the backlog of orders.

Please remember to check your junk mail folder; the email will be sent from noreply@edenred.co.uk.

The Department for Education who are managing this scheme have apologised for the delays and asked for patience.

We apologise for the delay in your receipt of these vouchers, and thank you for your continued patience.

Please continue to contact us via your school admin email address if you have any concerns.
