Kate is a Foundation Trustee, having previously served the Governing Board as an elected parent governor and Co-Chair and as an associate member of the Governing Board chairing the School Improvement Committees. She was appointed safeguarding link trustee in January 2024.

She attended a large comprehensive in Wiltshire before studying law at Oxford University. She worked as a lawyer in the city for nearly a decade before retraining as a psychotherapist. Kate has sat on governing boards in Lewisham for nearly 20 years, almost exclusively in leadership roles. Her passion for strong governance stems from her belief that high quality state education promotes social mobility and transforms lives.
