Prendergast Ladywell School Statement of Results - Academic Year 2023-24

Prendergast Ladywell School is delighted to announce another year of exceptional GCSE results. Students have achieved remarkable outcomes, setting the stage for their future academic pursuits.

A significant number of students surpassed expectations, with 60% of all grade 4 or above, and 43% attaining grades 5 or above. These strong performances reflect the dedication and hard work of both students and staff.

Particular commendation goes to individual students who excelled in their studies. Yu Yan, Amelie, He, and Asher achieved an impressive number of top grades, including multiple Grade 9s.

The school's commitment to providing a supportive and nurturing environment has undoubtedly contributed to these outstanding results. Prendergast Ladywell School is proud to have enabled its students to achieve their full potential and progress to the next stage of their education, including Prendergast Sixth Form.

Headteacher, Niall Hand, expressed his immense pride in the students' accomplishments: "I am thrilled to see our students achieve such excellent results. Their hard work and dedication, coupled with the support of our dedicated staff, have led to these outstanding outcomes. We look forward to celebrating their continued successes in the years to come."


Prendergast School Celebrating GCSE Results 2024 - Well Done students!

Following on from our fantastic results for Prendergast Sixth Form, the school is pleased to announce another set of brilliant results for GCSE also.   We are thrilled that our students have once again achieved an excellent set of results.  We are incredibly proud of them and wish to congratulate them all for all of their hard work.   

78% of students achieved a grade 4 and above in English and Maths and 63% at 5 and above. 89% of all students achieved a 4+ in English and 79% of our students achieved a 4+ in Maths.  Achievement in the EBACC (English Baccalaureate) at 5+ has continued to improve and at 51% continues to once again be well above national. 

26% of all entries gained a grade 8/9 (A*) and 43% of all entries gained a grade 7 (A) or above.  We are proud of all of our students.  However, we have once again had some exceptional individual performances.  A phenomenal 32 students gained at least 8 grades at 7-9 for their GCSEs.  Millie and Esme achieved an incredible twelve grade 9s each, Hester achieved ten grade 9s and Daisy achieved nine grade 9s and two grade 8s.

Kirsten, Molly, Anya, Aiofe, Amber, Lucy and Skye all achieved nine or more grade 8s and 9s, and Tamanah, Madina, Shi Yi and Iris all achieved seven or more grade 8s and 9s.  There are, of course, many more cases of good performance and we look forward to celebrating these results with the students.

Prendergast Vale School GCSE Results - Class of 2024

Prendergast Vale are really proud of the significant improvement in the percentage of students who achieved a 4+ in English and Maths increasing 12% compared to last year and now exceeding national outcomes.  This improvement reflects the rapid school improvement that is taking place and the dedication and hard work of the staff and students.  Almost a fifth of all grades where the top grades of 7-9 and the average grade performance was a grade 5 representing a strong pass at GCSE.

We are also proud of excellent results from some of our students - Attal achieved 5 grade 9s, 4 grade 8s and 1 grade 7,  Oyin achieved 3 grade 9s, 5 grade 8s and 1 grade 7 and Aidan achieved 5 grade 9s, 1 grade 8, 3 grade 7s and 6 grade 6s.  The following students also achieved 5 or more grade 7-9s in their GCSE - Russell, Marwa, Sanousy, Wilbur, Emily, Mikaela, Stefania, Veshmayan, Freddie and Milo.

We are really proud of excellent outcomes across a range of subjects including English, Maths, Science, Spanish, RE, Computer Science, History and Food Technology that have seen strong performances this year reflecting our commitment to excellent EBACC outcomes at Prendergast Vale.

Edmund Coogan, Headteacher, said: "I'm really proud of all the young people at Prendergast Vale this year.  You have all worked incredibly hard individually and as a cohort of learners together.  All at Prendergast Vale are really pleased to see how well you have achieved.  You have shown real commitment and determination.  I would also like to say a big thank you to all of the staff who have worked with our students and their family to ensure students achieve the best outcomes.  Good luck to all of our students on their next steps whether that is within the Trust's Sixth Form at Prendergast School or at another provider."
